When we talk about health, it is essential not to focus solely on physical health but also include mental health. This is true in general and especially for people who find themselves in difficult circumstances, whether you work in a dangerous environment, live in a war-torn region, or have to deal with a traumatic past.
I help balance and strengthen mental health to improve well-being and ensure mental security.
"I have been in therapy before. That took a long time, once even two and a half years. And it didn't help me much. You asked pithy questions and got straight to the point. After two sessions, we were already at the heart of what matters."
"Your questions make me think."
"You are the first counsellor, therapist or whatever you want to call it, with whom I made a second appointment at all. With all the others, I dropped out immediately."
After completing a doctoral in medicine-psychiatry at the Catholic Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, I assisted individuals and organizations in dealing with the consequences of war and violence. In my more than thirty years of experience, I have worked on different levels, with and for numerous survivors of war, military veterans, humanitarian workers, and others who have been confronted with high stress levels in their personal and professional lives.
Since 2003, I have been active as a trainer, consultant, and coach, not only for people confronted by trauma but also for people who struggle with motivational problems, career choices, or life events, offering my experience and knowledge to help you develop into a more happy and balanced person. And I got my certificate as a professional coach in 2022.
My approach is tailored to your situation, considering culture and tradition, as well as a creative and unconventional approach to building a connection that matters. Flexibility is an essential aspect of my work, being available anytime, anywhere, and for everyone.
The name of my company originates from my travels to Afghanistan. During my travels to high-risk countries, I was often impressed by the security measures. These were focusing on the protection of my physical existence and wellbeing. I help people to protect their personal and mental wellbeing against (extreme) stress and I help them to deal with extreme experiences.
